COUNCIL FOR EUROPEAN BUSINESS – A NEW PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN U.S. AND E.U.

Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2005 – Municipal Council of Beverly Hills, CA founded

The European Council for Business, a non-profit organization which purpose is to promote economical, commercial and cultural relationships between California and the European Union’ s states.

Romania is one of the founder-members, thanks to the General Consulate of Romania, Los Angeles’ efforts to recognize our country as an important business partner in the US business community. Other members are: Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Holland, Poland, Czech Republic and Croatia.

At the meeting had participated: the Mayor of Beverly Hills, CA – Mark Egerman; members of the Board of Administration from Beverly Hills City; Jim Bognet – special representative for economic development of the Governor; business people from Beverly Hills and representatives of various companies from Los Angeles, CA.

The organization has the following objectives:

§ To promote business affairs, commercial and cultural cooperation between the countries, which are members of this association, and California

§ To form an analysis and action center for finding solutions to difficulties that may occur during the process of applying the economical and commercial politics.

§ To support the countries that doesn’t have organizational and financial capability in making different projects with the US authorities and local business environment.

§ To create an informational and communicational system in order to define the economic policies

§ To form an international program that offers business internship opportunities

§ To promote cultural trades and to create a center of European Traditions.

The European Council for Business will get a considerable prestige once it will gain the interest of the national Chambers of Commerce and of the UE and US organizations from California.

The Council will provide support to the countries that don’t have sufficient financial resources in order to grant their access to different fairs, exhibitions, investment conferences and other events organized in California.
